Hip Orthopedics

Expert Hip Orthopedic Care in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois

Michael Anderson, MD, and Joseph Davies, MD, discuss Joint Commission certification at Aurora Sinai Medical Center.

At Aurora Health Care, our surgeons are uniquely qualified to address your hip orthopedic conditions. Our physicians receive advance training in treating hip injuries and disease, and are dedicated to helping you get back to the activities you enjoy as quickly as possible.

  • We're one of only 3 percent of hospitals in the nation—and the only ones in Wisconsin—to receive certification in hip joint replacement by the Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies more than 18,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States
  • We've developed expertise in what's called the "anterior" approach to hip orthopedic surgery. By accessing the hip from the front of the body, as opposed to the side or the back, we can reduce risk and you can recover faster
  • Our surgeons are among only a handful in Wisconsin to perform Birmingham Hip Resurfacing, which allows younger patients with hip disease to avoid total hip replacement. Learn about our hip resurfacing surgery.

Our experienced, dedicated hip orthopedic surgeons will work closely with you before, during and after procedures to help ensure the best possible outcomes. Prior to hip surgery, you’ll attend the Aurora Joint Academy, where you’ll learn what to expect and can ask questions up front in a friendly environment. As a result, patients often find they’re less anxious about their treatment. After surgery, our physicians and therapists will also work closely with you to develop an individualized rehabilitation plan. Many of our hip orthopedic patients say they're surprised at how quickly they're able to get back to work and enjoy a pain-free life.
