Aurora QuickCare™ offers unique, convenient care

Access to fast, affordable health care can help prevent costly complications and save money, which is particularly important during a severe economic downtown. At Aurora, we continually challenge ourselves to find new ways to serve our patients' needs, and Aurora QuickCare is just one example of that effort.

Five years ago, we were the first health system in the nation to introduce Aurora QuickCare, a new way for individuals and families to get common medical conditions diagnosed and treated. It's a solution to affordable and easy access to basic health services.

QuickCare clinics are staffed by health care providers who offer a wide range of services, including diagnosing illness and prescribing medications. As a part of Aurora, QuickCare caregivers are supported by Aurora's extensive network of physicians and facilities. The direct link between QuickCare and Aurora makes it easier for a patient's primary care physician to stay up to date on their symptoms, treatment and any follow up care that may be necessary.

Many patients point to Aurora QuickCare's affordability and convenience as major reasons they use the centers. “We see many patients who don't have insurance or who opted for high deductibles for their insurance plans,” said Janet Teske, nurse practitioner and Aurora QuickCare manager. “Other people say the short wait times are crucial because it keeps them from missing work.”

“Not only is it convenient because I work nearby, but it's a great value,” said patient Joellen Price, who uses the Aurora QuickCare in Southridge Mall in Greendale, Wis. “In this economy, everyone is watching their money, so that's an important consideration. I also think the providers are great. They're always very efficient and friendly.”

Patients say they particularly appreciate follow-up calls to see how patients are doing a day or two after the visit. Ailments treated and services provided at Aurora QuickCare include:

  • Severe sore throat
  • Ear infection
  • Sinus infection
  • Seasonal allergies
  • Pink eye
