Aurora in the Community
Community Benefits Report
We've always believed that better health care leads to stronger communities and strive to be an integral part of the communities we serve. Our longstanding community partnerships with public schools, faith communities, free clinics and other community-based organizations, have provided access to increasing numbers of individuals of all ages who need primary and preventive care.
Our Board of Directors
Aurora Health Care is governed by a community board of directors. The board, which consists of business and community leaders, oversees the strategic and financial decisions that shape Aurora's future.
Each day the caregivers of Aurora Health Care are meeting the needs of people at many different stages of life. The challenging economic times in 2010 have been reflected in growing numbers of children, families and adults who rely on us. Job losses, reductions in family income and the loss of insurance coverage for many reinforce the vital partnership we share with donors.
Contributions to our foundation help keep health care affordable, improve the patient experience and support advancements in our hospitals, clinics, home health services and other community initiatives that help shape local care and quality of life.
Financial concerns can weigh heavily on well-being. The stress of debt impacts individuals, families and the community. Consumer Credit Counseling Service, a program of The Center for Financial Wellness at Aurora Family Service, helps people get back on track when financial debt has overwhelmed their lives.
