The chief administrative resident, selected each year by the program
director, shares administrative, service, and educational
responsibilities with the service chiefs and faculty. In this position,
the chief administrative resident works closely with the program
director to plan departmental conferences, ensure proper staffing,
supervise and teach medical students and junior residents, assign
experiences and participate in progress evaluations. The chief
administrative resident represents the interests of residents to
departmental administration, faculty and attending physicians. The chief
administrative resident is a senior member of the Resident Education
Committee.
