Current resident – Megha Desai, Pharm.D.
Previous education: Pharm.D., University of Wisconsin - Madison
Short bio: I am from Franklin, a suburb of Milwaukee, WI. After pharmacy school in Madison, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I am glad to be back in Milwaukee. I enjoy outdoor activities (especially sports and camping), reading and spending time with family and friends.
Factors considered most important when choosing residency: I was looking for a program that offered a variety of clinical rotations in a multi-hospital health care system. Residency size, history of the residency and exposure to various clinical and hospital settings were among the few factors I considered when choosing a residency.
Why Aurora? Aurora Health Care offers wide range of clinical rotations at multiple sites. The preceptors in the program are specialists in clinical and administrative practices. Aurora as a healthcare organization is growing and I am happy to be part of it.
Year-long project: Development of models for pharmacist involvement in discharge medication reconciliation process at Aurora Health Care.
Future plans: Develop administrative and leadership skills during PGY-2 year, to fit into an inpatient manager role upon graduation.
