Current
resident – Jack Kampf, Pharm.D., MPH
Previous education: Pharm.D. and MPH from the University of
Iowa
Short bio: I loved growing up in Iowa and am happy to have
moved to a city both with a baseball team and a Great Lake.
What factors did you consider most important when choosing a
residency? I specifically looked for programs that offered an
array of clinical rotations, had a reputation of producing strong
clinicians, and had opportunities for a second year residency in
Health-Systems Administration.
Why Aurora? Aurora has long had a commitment to clinical
services as well as offers direct mentoring from influential voices in
the world of hospital pharmacy. The large residency class and
opportunities to complete rotations at a number of Aurora hospitals make
Aurora a truly unique environment to practice in.
Current rotations:
- Oncology
- Cardiology
- General Medicine
- Drug Policy
- Joint Commission Preparation
- Operating Room
- Adult Medicine
- MICU
- Administration
- Infectious Disease
- Transplantation
Year-long project: “Pharmacists’ role in preventing CHF
readmissions”
Future plans: Complete the PGY-2 in administration next
year at Aurora and eventually take a position at an academic medical
center implementing clinical programs in both the hospital and
community.
