B.S. in Biology and German from the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point
Short bio: I grew up in the Milwaukee area.
After my undergraduate training, I worked for two years in a
pediatric gastroenterology research lab and then decided to try
pharmacy school. During pharmacy school, I worked as a
pharmacy technician and intern at UW Hospital. I am currently
living in downtown Milwaukee. I enjoy running by the lake,
watching or playing any sport, fishing, camping, hiking, traveling,
going to summer festivals and spending time with family and friends.
What factors did you consider most important when
choosing a residency? Three factors that were important to
me in choosing a residency were the variety of learning experiences
offered, the program’s philosophy of teaching, and my comfort level
interacting with a program’s representatives during the interview
process.
Why Aurora? I wanted to move back to Milwaukee.
Aurora seemed like a good fit for me based on the interactions I had
with the Aurora residents and others during the interview process.
The Aurora system has a huge variety of learning environments and
opportunities. I will be rotating through three very different
hospitals during my residency year. Not too many other programs can
offer this.
Current rotations:
General Medicine (Sinai)
Infectious Disease
Drug Policy
Neonatal ICU
Cardiology
Administration
Adult Medicine (St. Luke’s)
Epilepsy/Neurology Clinic
Psych
O.R.
Year-long project: “Improving barcode medication
administration through routine data reporting”
Future plans: At this point, I hope to be a
clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting.
