Ellen RiegelCurrent resident – Ellen Riegel, Pharm.D.

Previous education: Pharm.D. Drake University

Short bio: I am from Joliet, Illinois. Currently living in downtown Milwaukee. Outside of pharmacy I like to hang out with friends, meet new people and try new things.

What factors did you consider most important when choosing a residency? The most important factors for me in choosing a residency program was developing my clinical skills in a learning environment with exposure to many different opportunities in different practice settings.

Why Aurora?  I liked that there are so many different opportunities to learn in different practice settings, and that there are great preceptors to work with. I was also interested in having a large residency class.

Current rotations:

  • Family Practice
  • Oncology
  • Adult Medicine
  • Women’s Health
  • Joint Commission Preparation
  • MICU
  • Infectious Disease
  • Administration
  • Drug Policy
  • Transplantation
  • Adult Medicine

Year-long project: “Analysis of pharmacy services to AMG/Advanced Health clinics that are not located on a hospital campus”

Future plans: Unsure at this time. I do plan on looking into a second year residency in oncology.
