Current resident
Peter Stuessy Peter Stuessy, Pharm.D.

Previous Education: Pharm.D. from University of Wisconsin-Madison

Short Bio: I am from Madison originally and currently own a house in Wauwatosa. Outside of pharmacy, I enjoy movies, local sports, golf, and relaxing at home.

What factors did you consider most important when choosing a residency? When deciding on my residency, I looked at variety of rotations offered, size of the medical center(s) involved, and the opportunity to work with Pharm.D. candidates.

Why Aurora? Aurora had most everything I was looking for. They have a wide variety of rotation options, offer different practice settings in which to take rotations, have a large tertiary medical center, and have rotations that take PharmD students.

Current rotations:

  • Drug Policy
  • Transplant Clinic
  • Cardiology
  • Neonatal ICU
  • Adult Medicine (St. Luke’s)
  • Administration
  • Internal Medicine (West Allis)
  • Infectious Disease
  • Oncology
  • Critical Care (St. Luke’s)
  • Psych/Hospice

Year long project: “Utilization of Smart Pump Infusion Data to Improve Patient Safety”

Future Plans: I would like to become a Clinical Coordinator in a specialized position or perhaps teach at a school with health care degrees.
