Short bio: I am originally from Aberdeen, SD. I enjoy working
out, playing tennis, and riding bike.
What factors did you consider most important when choosing a
residency? I was willing to go anywhere; so my options were great
and my decisions more difficult. I wanted a large residency class at a
tertiary hospital. While the hospitals specialties were important to me,
I also wanted to make sure the residency had a variety of experiences
for me to choose form.
Why Aurora? Every time I talked with someone from Aurora it
felt right. The residency met all my search requirements. It also
provided rotations at alternate locations, which I feel will give me a
more rounded experience.
Current rotations: Internal Med, Oncology, Cardiology, Medical
ICU (Sinai), Adult Medicine, Medical-Respiratory/Surgical ICU, Drug
Policy, Family Practice Clinic, Administration, Infectious Disease, Gen
Med
Year-long project: Erythropoiesis Stimulating Agents National
Practice Guidelines: Clinical Compliance Assessment and Pharmacoeconomic
Analysis
Future plans: My future plans are subject to change within the
next 5 minutes, but as of right now I envision myself doing a PGY2
residency in critical care, cardiology, or oncology, then possibly going
into academia.
