Current resident
Angie WeitendorfAngie Weitendorf, Pharm.D.

Previous education: Pharm.D. with a Concentration in Diabetes from Drake University

Short bio: I am from the Milwaukee area and am currently living in West Allis. Outside of pharmacy I like to spend time in the sun, go running, and spend time with friends.

What factors did you consider most important when choosing a residency? The most important factors for me in choosing a residency program where the variety of inpatient and ambulatory care rotations offered, the focus the program put on resident education, and the size of the residency class.

Why Aurora? I liked the flexibility and opportunity in the Practice Residency program at Aurora. It allows you to experience different practice settings, work with a large group of dedicated preceptors, and be part of a large residency class.

Current rotations:

  • Administration
  • Adult medicine
  • Family practice
  • Geriatrics/Parkinson’s
  • General medicine
  • Infectious disease
  • Medical ICU
  • Drug policy
  • Cardiology
  • Epilepsy/Neurology Clinic

Year-long project: “Quantify the percentage of order entry that triggers alerts and implementation of reduction strategies”

Future plans: Unsure at this time. I enjoy hospital pharmacy, and hope to use this year to further define my interests.
