Current resident -
Angie
Weitendorf, Pharm.D.
Previous education: Pharm.D. with a Concentration in
Diabetes from Drake University
Short bio: I am from the Milwaukee area and am
currently living in West Allis. Outside of pharmacy I like to spend time
in the sun, go running, and spend time with friends.
What factors did you consider most important when choosing a
residency? When I was looking into PGY-1 programs, I wanted a
residency program with a variety of inpatient and ambulatory care
rotations offered, a program in the Midwest, and a large residency class.
In addition, I wanted a program paired with a PGY-2 in Health-System
Pharmacy Administration because of my interest in clinical administration.
Why Aurora? I had the opportunity to work with several
members of the management team during my PGY-1 year at Aurora. I enjoyed
my time with each member and felt they would serve as strong mentors. I
liked the flexibility and opportunity in the Health-System Pharmacy
Administration Residency Program that Aurora provides.
Current rotations:
- Health-System Pharmacy Administration
- Inpatient Pharmacy Operations
- Outpatient Pharmacy Operations
- Clinical Services
- Pharmacy Informatics
- Procurement/Supply Chain
- Pharmacy Recruiting
Year-long project: “Assess the accuracy of medication
histories taken upon patient admission to Aurora hospitals."
Future plans: Secure a position as a clinical
supervisor/manager at Aurora Health Care with opportunities for
advancement to an upper management position.
