How to Apply for a Pharmacy Residency

Candidate Qualifications

PGY1 Programs

  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Eligible for pharmacist licensure in Wisconsin
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
  • The Pharmacy Residency programs participate in the Residency Matching Program ("The Match"). Employment as a pharmacy resident is contingent upon the application satisfying Aurora Health Care's employment eligibility requirements.

PGY2 Programs

  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Eligible for pharmacist licensure in Wisconsin
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
  • Graduate of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program

Each resident is eligible for full-time employee benefits. This includes medical/dental insurance, 23 days paid time off and travel support.

Stipend

We update competitive salaries annually. The current stipend for the PGY1 year is $45,760, and the stipend for the PGY2 year is $58,240.

Application Information

Each candidate must submit: letter of interest, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation and pharmacy school transcripts through PhORCAS – Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service. References must include either program-specific comments or a customized letter of recommendation in PhORCAS. No separate application form is required. All application materials must be received by January 10. Letter of interest must specify which program you are applying to:

Letter of interest also must specify your career goal, why you are interested in a residency, what you are looking for in a residency and why you are interested in the program for which you are applying. Applicants will be contacted for an on-site interview. The Pharmacy Residency programs participate in the Residency Matching Program ("The Match") and agree that no person at the sites will solicit, accept or use any ranking-related information from any residency applicant.
