Previous education: B.S. in Biology/Chemistry from Illinois College, Pharm.D. from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, PGY1 residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics

Short Bio: I grew up and completed my undergraduate degree in central Illinois and then spent five years in Iowa for pharmacy school and PGY1 residency. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, shopping, baking, and working out.

Factors Considered Most Important When Choosing Residency: In choosing a PGY2 residency, I wanted a program that was well established at a large medical center with a variety of learning experiences, knowledgeable preceptors, and opportunities for teaching.

Why Aurora? Aurora fit all of my criteria. In addition, Aurora is well known for cardiology, which is one of my interest areas.

Current rotations: Neurological ICU, Surgical ICU, Coronary ICU, Infectious Diseases, Medical-Respiratory ICU, Cardiothoracic Transplant, Cardiovascular ICU, Aurora Medical Group Intensivists, Second Shift ICUs

Year-Long Project: Optimizing pain and sedation management in intubated patients

Future Plans: After completing my PGY2 residency, I plan to pursue BCPS certification in the fall of 2014 and hope to take a position as a clinical faculty member at a college of pharmacy.
