Previous education: Undergrad pre-requisites and PharmD at University of Wisconsin-Madison. PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Aurora Health Care, Metro, Inc.

Short Bio: I was born and raised in Monroe, WI which is a small town in south-central Wisconsin, home of everything cheese. This explains my passion for beer and you guessed it, cheese. In my spare time, I love listening to music and going to live shows, as well as exploring all the festivals and restaurants Milwaukee has to offer.

Factors Considered Most Important When Choosing Residency: In choosing a PGY2 residency, I was looking for a program with a wide variety of available rotations that coincided with my interests.

Why Aurora? Aurora is a large, fast-paced system that offers a wide variety of experiences and is continually evolving to meet the unique needs of its patient population. The investment and enthusiasm the director and preceptors had in the program also impressed me and solidified my choice.

Current rotations:

  • Infectious Diseases
  • Coronary IC
  • Neurologic ICU
  • Medical/Respiratory ICU
  • Emergency Department
  • Advanced Heart Failure/Cardiothoracic Transplant
  • Surgical ICU
  • Cardiovascular ICU
  • Aurora Medical Group Intensivists

Year-Long Project: Optimization of antimicrobial stewardship through pharmacist interventions for blood stream pathogens identified through MALDI-TOF

Future Plans: After completing my PGY2 residency, I plan to pursue BCPS certification and hope to take an ICU clinical pharmacist position at a large, tertiary care hospital.
