The Aurora Family Medicine Residency Program has a long history of providing excellent educational experiences and training for family physicians. Our 272 graduates are practicing throughout the country, ranging from a rural Alaskan island to major metropolitan areas. With special strengths in preventive and community medicine, sports medicine, women's health, in-patient services, integrative medicine, geriatrics and research, the program provides an excellent opportunity for residents to be well-trained in all areas.

Our residency program is dually accredited (allopathic/osteopathic), allowing osteopathic residents to become certified through the American Osteopathic Association, and providing all of our residents with opportunities to learn and practice manipulation techniques.

Our residents have the opportunity to choose their continuity office experience from two outstanding Family Medicine clinics: the Aurora Sinai Family Care Center and the Aurora St. Luke’s Family Practice Center. These were the first two residency clinics in the state to become NCQA Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Homes.

All residents have the same residency curriculum and rotation requirements, including longitudinal continuity clinic opportunities in Integrative Medicine, Underserved Medicine, and Obstetrics. Residents also have rotations and volunteer activities available at three additional residency clinics. This includes the largest free clinic in the state of Wisconsin, Walker’s Point Community Clinic on Milwaukee’s near south side.

By offering maximum flexibility at a large institution with tremendous resources and faculty, the Aurora Family Medicine Residency Program will help you to become the physician you want to be.
