Maintaining a Drug-Free Work Environment

To ensure high quality patient care and service levels within all of our facilities. Aurora Health Care supports a safe, healthy, and drug-free work environment through pre-residency drug testing. As part of the residency training programs at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center and Aurora Sinai Medical Center, Aurora Health Care will drug test all applicants selected for a medical residency. Satisfactory results must be obtained from the initial test, or the residency offer will be withdrawn. Positive drug tests will eliminate otherwise selected applicants from further consideration for a residency training program.

Professional Liability Insurance

Aurora Health Care provides professional liability insurance while you are completing your residency training program.

During your first year as a Trainee, or when you are not yet licensed to practice medicine in Wisconsin, you are included in the Professional Liability Insurance Policy of the Medical Center.

Licensed Trainee's professional liability coverage is provided by a policy purchased by the Medical Center. Each policy for a licensed Trainee shall be provided separate limits of liability, as required under Section 655.23 of Wisconsin Statutes. Coverage in excess of the limits on both of the above policies is provided through the Injured Patients & Family Compensation Fund (Fund). You will be required to complete an application form in order to obtain the insurance coverage.
