The faculty
A committed and enthusiastic full-time Transitional Year (TY) faculty,
full-time teaching staff from other in-house residency programs, and a
large voluntary faculty supports the Transitional Year Program. Anyone
admitting a patient to a resident team or consulting on a teaching
service patient contributes to the residents' education. Many of our
voluntary specialists provide clinical preceptorships - not to fulfill a
contractual obligations, but because they enjoy teaching and interacting
with residents. The Transitional Year Program full-time faculty
includes:
Richard Battiola, MD, Program Director
Dr. Battiola is a 1983 graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin,
where he also completed his Internal Medicine residency. He has been a
full-time faculty member at Aurora St. Luke's since 1988 and has been the TY
Program Director since 1991. He also is an Associate Program Director
for the Aurora Health Care/U.W. Affiliated Internal Medicine Residency
Program.
Dr. Battiola is actively involved in Transitional Year internship
education and administration on a national level. He is the Past
Chairman of the National Council of Transitional Year Program Directors
and of the ACGME Transitional Year Review Committee.

completed her Internal Medicine residency training at MCW in 1995. After
serving as chief resident at MCW for one year, Dr. Nichols joined our
faculty and staff in 1996. In addition to her involvement in the
internship program. Dr. Nichols has been very involved in Continuing
Medical Education throughout the Aurora Health Care System.
Aijaz Noor, MD
Dr. Noor joined our faculty in July 2000, after completing his
residency and tenure as chief resident of the Aurora Health Care
Internal Medicine Residency.
Rob Nandalur, MD

Transitional Year and Internal Medicine Residency with Aurora Health
Care. Dr. Nandalur has been very active as a clinical educator focusing
on Hospitalist Medicine. He is a frequent teaching attending on our
Internal Medicine Teaching Service.
A large number of other full-time and voluntary faculty, representing
all major specialties, actively participate in resident education,
acting as role models for learning the science and practice of medicine.
