have had a chance to talk to the previous year's TY residents, review
written rotation evaluations, and discuss the curriculum and educational
goals with the program directors. Changes in rotation choices are
frequently allowed throughout the year.
Open elective
Residents have an opportunity to design a rotation not routinely
offered, such as a research month, or a clinical rotation not normally
provided in our curriculum. Over the last several years, one third of
our residents have taken advantage of this opportunity.
