This 1-year program is sponsored by Aurora Health Care, and
co-sponsored by the Department of Family Medicine, the Department of
Internal Medicine, and by the Aurora Women's Pavilion of Aurora West Allis Medical Center.
The goals of the program are to provide the practitioner with a
special interest in the field of women's health the opportunity to gain
an expertise in the clinical, educational, and research aspects of
women's health.
Eligibility requirements
Successful completion of residency in a U.S. ACGME program
Board eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or
OB/GYN
Required activities
Breast health
Cardiology
Gynecologic oncology
Reproductive endocrinology
Behavioral medicine
Urogynecology
Sexuality/sexual dysfunction
The above rotations also integrate overall wellness and complementary
medicine with elective activities (see below).
Elective activities
Women's sports medicine
Dermatology
GI
Sexual and domestic abuse
Endocrine (osteoporosis, PCOS focus)
Longitudinal experience
Gyn clinic with preceptor 1/2 day per week
Continuity clinic for 2 or 3 half days per week
No call responsibility, possible staffing of residents one
clinic 2-3 half days per month
There is a great deal of flexibility for the fellow to determine
his/her own rotations and develop his/her interests throughout the year.
