Health care career education

Can health care professionals begin training while still in high school? We think so.

Where better to learn about careers in health care than high school? It makes sense. That way students can consider colleges or universities that offer the programs they may want to pursue, whether it’s nursing, radiology or surgery. So, why doesn’t it happen that way?

At Aurora Health Care, we got excited when a Wisconsin high school invited us to partner with them to help teach basic anatomy classes and introduce students to health care careers. We got involved—taking health care professionals into classrooms to teach about the body systems. Bringing students into hospitals to observe surgery. Providing equipment. And challenging students to think hard about their futures. It’s a commitment we’re making to students, their communities, and to the future of health care throughout Eastern Wisconsin.
