Aurora Medical Group receives national recognition for cholesterol
management
Aurora Medical Group has been selected as an honoree in the American
Medical Association's Acclaim Award competition. We will receive a $10,000
grant in recognition of our care management initiative focused on
cholesterol management in coronary artery disease (CAD).
The AMGA is the nation's leading professional association for medical
groups. Its Acclaim Award, now in its fourth year, rewards quality
improvement efforts, led by physician-directed health care organizations,
that measurably improve health outcomes and quality of life for patient
populations with a specific disease. Aurora Medical Group will be
recognized as an Acclaim honoree at the AMGA National Conference on
Physician Directed Healthcare, in early February in San Diego.
Aurora's cholesterol management initiative has resulted in a 31%
increase in the number of coronary artery disease patients with an LDL
cholesterol at or below the national goal of 100 mg/dL. In addition, we
have seen a 59% increase in the number of CAD patients who have an LDL
measurement performed at least annually.
