Area consumers recognize Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center as a top hospital for the 7th consecutive year

Tuesday, September 27, 2005

Residents in southeastern Wisconsin have selected Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center as a top hospital for overall quality and image for the 7th straight year. St. Luke’s Medical Center was recently named a 2005/2006 Consumer Choice Award winning hospital in Milwaukee.

Each year, the National Research Corporation asks more than 400,000 consumers in 48 states which hospitals have the best overall quality and image. The hospitals with the highest scores are then named Consumer Choice winners. In the Milwaukee area only St. Luke’s has received this award 7 consecutive years.

“Patients continue to play an increasing role in their selection of healthcare facilities and services,” says Michael D. Hays, National Research Corporation Chief Executive Officer. “St. Luke’s deserves recognition for the emphasis it has placed on providing quality, patient-centered care.”

“Aurora St. Luke’s has gained increasing stature as a tertiary destination hospital,” says Mark Ambrosius, President of Aurora Health Care, Metro Region.

“At St. Luke’s, patients have access to national experts in heart care, the neurosciences, orthopedics and cancer. But having our patients publicly recognize this kind of care is very rewarding.”

St. Luke’s Medical Center is a part of Aurora Health Care, a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers services at sites in 80 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.
