Aurora Pharmacy honored as Good Government Award recipient

Thursday, February 21, 2008

The release below was issued by the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.

The Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin is pleased to recognize Aurora Pharmacy as the recipient of the 2008 Good Government Award.

Aurora Pharmacy, as an organization, continues to be a staunch supporter of PSW's business support program and strong advocates for PSW's legislative efforts in Madison. When asked, they are there. Executives within Aurora Pharmacy have not only participated in PSW's government affairs programs individually, they have successfully encouraged and supported pharmacists
throughout Aurora Pharmacy to be PSW members and respond to PSW's calls for professional action.

"We're honored to be recognized for Aurora's commitment to improve the lives and health of the people in the many communities that we serve," said John Gates, RPh, Director of Operations at Aurora Pharmacy. "A part of that commitment is to ensure that all people have an ability to access critical health services -- including pharmacy. We achieve that in part through our partnership with PSW."

"Aurora is pleased to partner with PSW and its members to ensure that our patients have a strong voice in Madison," said Tom Woller, RPh, Aurora Vice President of Pharmacy Services. "That partnership has helped to ensure that our state is a leader in pharmacy policy that benefits the residents of Wisconsin."

The Good Government Affairs Award is presented to a member of the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin who has demonstrated a strong commitment to the advancement of the practice of pharmacy in the legislative arena.

Aurora Pharmacy was honored at a special awards reception on February 20 at the Inn on the Park in Madison. The award is presented each year in conjunction with the annual Pharmacy
Society of Wisconsin Legislative Day.

PSW is a statewide professional association that represents over 2,000 Wisconsin pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
Wisconsin pharmacists dispense over five million prescriptions each month to consumers and have repeatedly been listed by national poling organizations as one of the most trusted professions in the U.S.
