Northwest side addition ’doubles’ The Village’s service area to seniors
MILWAUKEE, Wis., The Village at Manor Park, already Wisconsin’s largest provider of senior health care services exclusively for older adults, increased its network of care for seniors with the recent acquisition of Friendship Living Centers, 7300 W. Dean Road, Milwaukee.
Friendship Living Centers include Friendship Village, an independent, assisted living and skilled nursing facility; and Freedom Village, an independent living townhome community.
The Village at Manor Park purchased the complexes from Aurora Health Care.
“We’re very pleased and excited about having a physical presence and extending our health care services to seniors on the northwest side of Milwaukee,” said Dr. Reginald Hislop, III, President and CEO of The Village at Manor Park. Headquartered in West Allis, The Village has been providing care and services for the elderly for 80 years. Operations consist of housing, assisted care, nursing homes, hospices, medical clinics and outpatient services.
“Our purpose as a leader in senior health care is to provide health and lifestyle services to meet the needs of older adults,” Dr. Hislop said. “Adding Friendship Living Centers fits in very well with our mission to reach out to seniors in the larger community.”
William Lange, president, Friendship Living Centers, said “The Village at Manor Park has deep roots in senior services in the community and shares our commitment to high quality care and services.”
Lange said the transaction enables Aurora to focus its resources on other senior services that include Acute Care for the Elderly, elder case management and other programs provided by the Visiting Nurse Association of Wisconsin and Village Adult Services that reach patients throughout eastern Wisconsin.
“Caring for seniors is what we do…it’s all we do,” said Dr. Hislop. “We are constantly looking for opportunities where we can apply our expertise, experience and Christian-based values to more seniors and in more areas. We welcome and look forward to working with all the patients, residents and staff at Friendship Living Centers.”
The terms of the transaction were not released.
