Aurora Health Center opens in Wautoma

Monday, January 24, 2005

New center features dialysis center, retail pharmacy and outpatient services

The new Aurora Health Center at 900 E. Division St. in Wautoma is scheduled to open Monday, Jan. 24.

“We are excited to be able to bring convenient, affordable health care to the residents of Wautoma,” said Administrator David Zerbe. “It is a growing community and the new health center is a testament to the bright future of Wautoma.”

The Aurora Health Center is approximately 16,000 square feet sitting on five acres of land. It has office space for primary and specialty care physicians. The health center features a dialysis center and a full array of outpatient diagnostic services, including a laboratory, x-ray and a full-service, retail pharmacy.

The new Aurora Health Center features the practice of Thomas Ryan, M.D., a family practice physician with years of experience in the Oshkosh area and Fozia Alvi, M.D., a family practice physician who will join Dr. Ryan in February.

“Our goal is to provide greater access and convenience to our patients,” said Dr. Ryan. “When you can see your doctor, receive your tests and have your prescription filled all in one place, it makes the process of receiving health care just a little bit less stressful.”

The Aurora Health Center in Wautoma will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Aurora Pharmacy offers extended hours for the convenience of patients needing prescriptions filled after hours and on the weekend. The pharmacy hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays.

Other Aurora Health Centers near Wautoma include Omro and Redgranite. Inpatient care is offered through the new Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, a full-service community hospital that opened in October of 2003. The 84-bed hospital is located along Highway 21, just west of Highway 41.

Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a national leader in efforts to improve the quality of care. Aurora offers care at sites in more than 80 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.
