Success of current clinic allows for expanded services
The new Aurora Health Center in Neenah has opened for patient care at 1136 Westowne Drive. The health center has been moved from its existing clinic into a new, much larger building that will allow for expanded services and greater comfort and convenience for patients and their families.
“This beautiful new clinic will allow us to enhance the care we provide for our patients in the Neenah area,” said Brian Goldshlack, M.D., a family practice physician in Neenah since 2002. “This expansion of services is an example of the success of this current clinic.”
The new Aurora Health Center is just one of many new buildings in the Westowne Village development, near the intersection of Highway 41 and Winneconne Avenue. The health center is 38,500 square feet on five acres of land, almost 7 times the size of the former health center at 1370 Commercial St. in Neenah.
In addition to offering more space for primary care, the new clinic will allow for new and expanded specialty care, a range of diagnostic testing and imaging services, a laboratory, physical therapy, a retail pharmacy and a urgent care for immediate needs.
“When you can see your doctor, receive your tests and have your prescription filled all in one place, it makes the process of receiving health care just a little bit less stressful,” Dr. Goldshlack said. “The addition of an urgent care will help those patients that want to see a doctor with minor, but urgent needs, that can’t wait until a next-day appointment.”
The new building will accommodate specialists in the areas of family practice, women’s health including prenatal care, pediatrics, orthopedics, general surgery and podiatry. These specialists will hold office hours on a regular basis at the health center. The larger space will also enable recruitment of new physicians to the community. Seven physicians and seven other providers already practice at the facility. The urgent care will be staffed from 8 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday and 8 am to noon on Saturdays.
“Many of our patients live in the area or nearby,” said David Zerbe, administrator of the Aurora Health Center in Neenah and surrounding communities. “This clinic will provide a new option for care closer to home.”
Construction began in November of last year.
