Aurora Pharmacy in Oshkosh remodels to better serve customers

Wednesday, August 02, 2006

Pharmacy on Bowen St. emphasizes durable medical equipment, home health

The Aurora Pharmacy at 2101 Bowen St., Oshkosh, has been remodeled to greatly expand its durable medical equipment and home health care offerings. One unique aspect to the store is a track for customers to try out equipment such as walkers and wheelchairs.

Aurora Pharmacy will hold an open house for the public Saturday, Aug. 12.

"We transformed our store in response to increased demand for durable medical equipment and other items for our customers," said Kathryn Konkol, managing pharmacist. "Increasingly we have caregivers who are purchasing items for aging parents in order to improve or maintain their quality of life. That's why we offer walkers, wheelchairs, orthopedic supports, compression stockings and personal care aids as well as the traditional prescriptions and other pharmacy products.

"We also know that consumers like to try products before buying them, so we installed a mini test track so customers can see, touch and feel items in order to select the one that best suits their needs," Konkol said.

Aurora Pharmacy offers next-day home delivery from all of its locations.

Hours for the Bowen Street store are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to noon Sunday. The phone number is 920-303-5006.

Aurora Pharmacy, with more than 120 retail pharmacies, is part of Aurora Health Care, a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers services in more than 90 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.
