Aurora Lakeland Medical Center offers scholarship to local studentsTuesday, February 06, 2007
Students who are residents of Walworth County and pursuing a post-secondary course of study in health care are eligible for the Elizabeth A. Miller Scholarship, offered by the Aurora Lakeland Medical Center Benefit Committee.
"Helping develop tomorrow's health care professionals is what this scholarship opportunity is all about,'' said Alice Morava, Aurora Lakeland Medical Center Benefit Committee member. "The need for nurses, radiology technicians, physicians and pharmacists will only continue and supporting students interested in pursuing a career in health care is part of our mission.''
To qualify, a scholarship applicant must be in their junior or senior year of a bachelor degree program or enrolled in a graduate program. Applicants must also have a grade point average of 2.8 in the academic year immediately prior to application and maintain a 2.8 grade point average. Deadline for applications is March 23, 2007.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for a student interested in pursuing a career in the health care industry,'' said Laverne Schmidt, philanthropy director, Aurora Health Care. "We're very pleased to be able to offer this scholarship.''
