Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce honors Fran Finley at annual recognition program
It's a unique person who can successfully lead hundreds of employees through the infancy of a hospital, remain active in professional organizations and contribute to her community. It takes a person who knows how to garner the commitment of a community, communicate expectations, monitor progress, be a change agent and carry forward with a positive attitude. That person is Fran Finley.
Fran is the vice president and chief administrative officer of Aurora Medical Center, Oshkosh. She is the hospital's first administrator who, through leading a staff of 500, established a strong following from the community in four short years. Her secret to the medical center's success is fostering an environment in which managers and employees are encouraged to consider options not yet tried. Innovation is key.
Fran transfers those skills into the community, where she is involved in a number of organizations and projects. Last year, she chaired the first capital campaign for Oshkosh Christian School and Valley Christian High School. She serves on both the United Way board and its allocations committee. As a member of Oshkosh Rotary Southwest, she's served as a board member and as co-chair of the Vocational Program, having participated in the rotary's PALs program with Roosevelt Elementary School. Fran also served as president of the professional women's organization, TEMPO of the Fox Valley, and sits on both the Chancellor's Advisory Committee at UW Oshkosh and Fox Valley Technical College Advisory Committee, and is a ministry leader in her church.
If Fran weren't busy enough, she also is active in professional organizations, like the Wisconsin chapter of American College of Healthcare Executives, through which she earned the highest level of advancement-board certification and fellowship in the organization.
Fran is clearly a leader in her profession and in her community. She is a woman to be emulated. We are proud to recognize Fran Finley as the 2007 Woman of Achievement.
