Cardiac nurse practitioner recognized by national council

Mark S. Christman, nurse practitioner, cardiology department, Aurora Burlington Clinic, was recently awarded diplomate status with the Accreditation Council for Lipidology.

Christman, who coordinates the lipid clinic at Aurora Burlington Clinic, is one of the 1st nurse practitioners in the nation who has achieved this important designation.

To obtain diplomate status, health care professionals must complete a range of continuing medical education requirements and successfully pass a rigorous examination. Health care providers who specialize in lipid management focus on the diagnosis and treatment of cholesterol related diseases.

Christman, who has been at Aurora Burlington Clinic since 2003, earned his master's degree as a nurse practitioner from Concordia University in Mequon. He resides in Elkhorn.
