Aurora Health Care and Advanced Healthcare complete affiliationMonday, January 07, 2008
Aurora Health Care and Advanced Healthcare today announced that they have completed their affiliation process.
“The start of this new year marks a new era for the people of Advanced Healthcare and the patients we serve,” said Eugene Monroe, M.D., president of Advanced Healthcare. “As part of Aurora Health Care, we will be able to tap all of the resources of our state’s most fully integrated health care provider, and that will be a great benefit for our patients.”
The 250 primary care physicians and specialists of Advanced Healthcare practice at 14 clinics and four surgery centers in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington and Ozaukee counties.
“We are delighted to combine our efforts with those of the many talented people at Advanced Healthcare,” said Nick Turkal, M.D., president and chief executive officer of Aurora Health Care. “Together we will focus on finding new and better ways to improve the quality of care and reduce costs.”
Advanced Healthcare and Aurora Health Care announced their intentions to affiliate in July 2007. At the same time the organizations announced plans to develop a regional medical center in Grafton to better serve patients in the northeast part of the metropolitan area. Construction is expected to begin by this fall.
Dr. Monroe said the Advanced clinics would continue to operate as they have in the past.
Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers services at sites in more than 90 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.
