Aurora Health Care's Orthopedics and Women's Health service line Regional Manager Amy Jerdee was recently awarded a national service award.

The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA) honors one of its members annually through the Cynthia Northrop Distinguished Service Award. This award recognizes a leader in TAANA who has significantly contributed to the organization and to the nursing and legal professions. Jerdee was recognized during TAANA's annual membership event in Newport, Rhode Island.

Jerdee has just completed a three-year board term with this national nurse attorney organization. In her leadership role, she led two new initiatives, both of which raise money for this non-profit organization. She had the vision and led the charge of creating a "Business and Legal Guidebook for Nurse Practitioners" and also organized a series of teleseminars featuring national speakers on topics important to the legal and health care community.

The guidebook, which is a 13-chapter compilation of best practices for setting up a clinical practice and tapes of the teleseminars can be purchased through TANNA.
