Greg Banaszynski to Join Aurora Health CareThursday, June 05, 2008
Aurora Health Care today announced the appointment of Gregory A. Banaszynski as executive vice president of the organization’s South Region.
“We are delighted to have an executive of Greg’s caliber in this role,” said Donald J. Nestor, Aurora’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. “We look forward to having Greg’s leadership as we continue to find better ways to serve our patients and our communities.”
Aurora’s South Region consists of Racine, Kenosha and Walworth counties. Aurora offers a complete continuum of health care services in the region including hospitals in Kenosha, Burlington and Elkhorn, clinics, pharmacies, rehabilitation centers, behavioral health centers and the services of the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association.
“Aurora Health Care is the leader among health care providers in Wisconsin and enjoys a growing national reputation,” Banaszynski said. “Aurora’s patient-focused approach to care and its drive to continually improve the way care is delivered were the key attractions for me.”
Banaszynski recently left his position as president and chief executive officer of SynergyHealth in West Bend. Prior to that he was president and chief executive officer of Fort HealthCare in Fort Atkinson. Earlier in his career, Banaszynski served for five years as president of St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee. From 1988 to 1991, he worked for Samaritan Health Plan, then part of Aurora Health Care.
Banaszynski begins his new position June 16. He succeeds Loren Anderson, who will be retiring July 1 after serving as executive vice president of the South Region for 11 years.
Banaszynski, 53, has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master’s in business administration from Florida State University.
Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers services at sites in more than 90 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.
