New Aurora BayCare Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Center Holds Community Open House June 21

The public is invited to a community open house at the new Aurora BayCare Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21.

The new 80,000-square-foot, two-story center includes a pediatrics department and will feature an athletic enhancement and lifestyle center.

Attendees who participate in a self-guided tour of the new center will see a:

  • Three-dimensional video analysis room with Dartfish technology;
  • Indoor golf training center featuring multiple hitting bays and a large, grass-like putting green;
  • Multi-purpose shock absorption court area;
  • Multi-purpose turf area;
  • Therapy pool for rehabilitation and group exercise;
  • Acceleration track and sand pit for runners and horizontal jumpers;
  • Performing arts studio for dancers, skaters and musicians;
  • Sports medicine rehabilitation center for athletes recovering from sports-related injuries and for free injury evaluations;
  • Workout area for medical fitness program;
  • Hockey treadmill room for an ice training simulator; and
    Outdoor multi-purpose training field.

Guests at the event will be treated to free giveaways, refreshments, face painting, equipment demonstrations and a free autograph session with members of the Green Bay Blizzard arena football team. Photo opportunities with the mascots of the Green Bay Blizzard and local hockey team, Green Bay Gamblers, will also be available. The Green Bay Blizzard dance team will perform, and the Green Bay youth synchronized ice skaters from the Kicks team will practice off-ice drills, ballet moves and stretches.

Directions: From I-43, take the Mason Street exit and go east, then turn right on Challenger Drive, right on Voyageur, which turns into Kepler Drive, follow Kepler Drive past Marcus Theatres; Aurora BayCare Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Center will be on your right with parking in the front.

The project marks the sixth major construction project on the Aurora BayCare campus since its opening in September 2001.

Aurora BayCare Sports Medicine is the area’s exclusive provider of Athletic Republic, a high-profile performance enhancement program.

Aurora BayCare Medical Center is a 167-bed, full-service tertiary care hospital offering trauma, neonatal, cardiac, cancer, neurological and critical care services. It is located at 2845 Greenbrier Road on Green Bay’s east side and opened in September 2001 as a joint effort of Aurora Health Care and BayCare Clinic.
