Diabetes Support Group to Discuss Stroke and DiabetesThursday, July 03, 2008
Aurora Medical Center will host the monthly Diabetes Support Group on Monday, July 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Michigan Room at Aurora Medical Center, 5000 Memorial Drive in Two Rivers.
Registered Nurse Ann Popelars, manager of in-patient care and nursing services at Aurora Medical Center, will lead a discussion on stroke and diabetes called “Stroke: Having Diabetes Puts You At Risk.”
"Individuals can impact their health and prevent future health problems by making changes in their lifestyles,” said Popelars. “It's important to know what your risk factors are and how individuals, with the help of health care professionals, can prevent stroke and other serious health problems.”
The Diabetes Support Group meets the first Monday of every month. Meetings are free and open to individuals with diabetes, their families, friends and caregivers. Registration is not required. For more information, call Aurora Diabetes Care at (920) 794-5200.
