Aurora BayCare Breast Surgeon Honored With Cancer Care AwardTuesday, August 19, 2008
Green Bay, Wis. - The American College of Surgeon's Commission on Cancer (CoC) program has honored Green Bay's only fellowship-trained breast surgeon Colette Salm-Schmid, M.D., of Aurora BayCare Medical Center with the 2007 Cancer Liaison Physician Outstanding Performance Award.
The award recognizes physicians who go above and beyond the regular scope of their duties to improve the quality of and strengthen their cancer program. Salm-Schmid is one of 55 physicians nationwide to achieve this recognition.
Established by the American College of Surgeons in 1922, the Commission on Cancer is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients through standard setting, prevention, research, education, and the monitoring of comprehensive quality care.
