New Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician Joins Aurora Health Care in Green Bay

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Green Bay, Wis. - Ted Hayes, M.D., has joined Aurora Health Care in Green Bay as a perinatologist, more commonly known as a maternal-fetal medicine physician.

As a maternal-fetal medicine physician, Hayes offers advanced knowledge of the obstetrical, medical, genetic and surgical complications and risks of pregnancy and their effects on both the mother and fetus.

He works closely with a woman's OB/GYN to determine when more specialized care is needed. Physicians in obstetrics and gynecology will refer their patients to a maternal-fetal medicine specialist if the patient is considered ‘high-risk' due to conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, infectious diseases, or kidney or gastrointestinal disease.

Hayes earned his medical degree at Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, R.I., and completed his residency and fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Penn.

Hayes sees patients at Aurora BayCare Medical Center located at 2845 Greenbrier Road, Green Bay. His appointment line is (920) 288-8580.

Aurora BayCare Medical Center is a 167-bed, full-service tertiary care hospital located at 2845 Greenbrier Road on Green Bay's east side. It opened in September 2001 as a joint effort of Aurora Health Care and BayCare Clinic.
