MILWAUKEE, WI -- The Healing Center will hold a breakfast fundraiser 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Milwaukee Athletic Club, with Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton as the featured speaker.

The Healing Center provides advocacy, support groups, counseling and art therapy to survivors and their families. It also offers therapies such as massage, Reiki, yoga and Pilates through a relationship with CORE/El Centro, a non-profit natural healing center.

"When we decided to start the center in 2001, there was nothing like it in the U.S.," said Maryann K. Clesceri, executive director of The Healing Center. "A core group of people built the space, hired the staff, got the funding and were passionate about making it a reality. Many of them were Aurora employees who went well beyond their job description to contribute to this innovative concept."
