National Expert to Discuss Diabetes at Aurora BayCareThursday, October 30, 2008
Green Bay, Wis. - November is American Diabetes Month and about 24 million people in the United States have diabetes, yet nearly 25 percent of people who have it, don't know it.
Approximately 50 percent of people with diabetes have some form of cardiovascular disease. That's why it's important to know about cholesterol and how it affects your health.
Aurora BayCare Medical Center is hosting a free seminar called "Diabetes and Lipids: What You Need To Know" from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6 at Aurora BayCare Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center, 1160 Kepler Drive, in Green Bay.
Keynote speaker Tara Dall, M.D., of Advanced Lipidology, S.C., is one of the only lipid specialists in the state of Wisconsin. Dall is a lipid researcher and has authored articles in a National Lipid Association publication.
Attendees will enjoy vendor displays from 5 to 6 p.m. and again from 7 to 7:30 p.m.
