Family Practice Physician Joins Aurora BayCare Health Center in Green BayTuesday, November 04, 2008Green Bay, Wis. - Peter Vasconcellos, D.O., a board-certified family practice physician, is now seeing patients at Aurora BayCare Health Center, 2253 W. Mason Street, in Green Bay. Vasconcellos earned a doctor of osteopathy degree at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed a family residency program at Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, Ill. Family practice physicians offer medical care to patients of any age including infant and geriatric patients. This ability allows a continuum of medical care for a patient and his family. Vasconcellos' areas of special interest include pediatrics and dermatology. An osteopathic doctor (D.O.) and a medical doctor (M.D.) can perform similar tasks except a D.O. looks at the "total person" and focuses on preventive care instead of focusing on specific symptoms or illnesses. A D.O. also uses osteopathic manipulative treatment, which involves using the hands to diagnose, treat and prevent illness or injury to a person's muscles and joints. To schedule an appointment, call (920) 327-7300. Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers services at sites in more than 90 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin. # # # Contact: Jen Strebel (920-496-6369) |
