Marinette, Wis. - Aurora Health Care in Marinette is hosting a Career Explorers Program where all students in grades 9 through 12 are invited to get hands-on experience in the health care industry.

The program begins on Monday, Dec. 15 with registration starting at 5:30 p.m. and orientation and an open house at 6 p.m. in the conference room at Aurora Health Center, 4061 Old Peshtigo Road, in Marinette.

Those interested in the program will then meet monthly according to the following schedule. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. each night, and the program will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Aurora Health Center.

• Jan. 19, 2009: Nursing and Surgical Center
• Feb. 16, 2009: Lab and Pharmacy
• March 16, 2009: Career as a Physician or Nurse Practitioner/Imaging Department
• April 20, 2009: Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Cardiac Rehab and Dialysis

A participation fee of $10 for the entire event is payable at the orientation meeting on Dec. 15. Checks can be made to "Bay Lakes Council." Parents must also sign a consent form.

The Career Explorers Program in Marinette began in 2006.
