Aurora Offers Automated Appointment Reminders for Patients

Friday, December 05, 2008

Marinette, Wis. - Aurora Health Care patients in Marinette and its surrounding areas will receive phone reminders about upcoming appointments and reminders about preventive care and management of chronic conditions by an automated call system.

"The automated call system allows patients to confirm, reschedule or cancel their scheduled appointment during the call," said Cindy Johnson, manager of clinic operations of Aurora Health Care. "Patients who wish to reschedule their appointment will be contacted the next business day to schedule a new visit."

In addition to reminder calls for previously scheduled appointments, this system contacts patients who are due for follow-up care on wellness exams or chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, congestive heart failure or coronary artery disease. On a daily basis, patients who need a follow-up appointment for a specific condition are identified. The system notifies these patients that they are overdue for a needed service and tracks to see if they have scheduled a visit.

"All features of the automated system assure our patients that we are providing quality patient care," said Johnson.

For questions regarding the automated phone system, call 715-735-7764. For other questions or to make an appointment, call 715-732-8000.
