Register for Women's Heart Health Screening at Aurora Health Center in MarinetteWednesday, January 28, 2009Marinette, Wis. - Heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death for women in the United States. Aurora Health Care is offering a screening for women who may be at risk for heart disease from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6 at Aurora Health Center, 4061 Old Peshtigo Road, in Marinette in the cardiology department. Screenings include a blood pressure reading, blood sugar check, cholesterol screening and body mass index (BMI) calculation. Patients can also meet with Board-Certified Cardiologist Yasser Salem, M.D., and Cardiology Nurse Practitioner Jean Deffner, both of Aurora Health Care, to discuss testing results. The cost is $15 per person and a 12-hour fast is required. To register, call 715-732-8050. Friday, Feb. 6 is National Wear Red Day, a day when Americans nationwide, including Aurora caregivers, will wear red to show their support for women's heart disease awareness.
