Feeney Named Hospital AdministratorTuesday, May 26, 2009
Oshkosh, Wis. -- Aurora Health Care is pleased to introduce John Feeney as the new chief administrative officer for Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh (AMCO). His first day was May 18th. In his new role, Feeney is responsible for the overall operation of the medical center.
Feeney has been a part of Aurora Health Care Oshkosh for 10 years, most recently serving as director of medical staff services at AMCO. John guided the operations and program development of all clinical services offered AMCO. He also was responsible for monitoring the patient care philosophy at AMCO, patient satisfaction, physician relations, including recruitment and retention, as well as caregiver education and development.
"John's high level knowledge of the Aurora system, our patient-centered care philosophy, the health care industry and vision for the future of healthcare will be a great asset to the medical center and more importantly, a benefit to our patients," said Dan Bonk, executive vice president for Aurora's Central Region. ""Through his experiences, John developed strong and dedicated relationships with our physicians and community organizations."

Feeney is currently working toward a board certification in health care management as a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives (FACHE). He earned a bachelor's degree in English from Ripon College and received his master's degree in Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management within Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. He as also served on many community boards in the Oshkosh area and continues to be a passionate board member for the Oshkosh area YMCA. He is a past president of the Friends of Oshkosh and a graduate of Leadership Oshkosh. Feeney was recognized by the Oshkosh Northwestern in 2002 as one of the "Four Under Forty" leaders in Oshkosh.
Feeney lives in the Green Lake area with his wife, Gretchen, and their two children. The family enjoys the many outdoor activities that Wisconsin provides. Feeney is an avid runner and cyclist and has competed in triathlon events.
He succeeds Fran Finley who served as chief administrative officer at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh since its opening in 2003 and has transferred to Aurora Medical Center in Summit, which is scheduled to open in the spring of 2010.
Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a national leader in efforts to improve the quality of care. Aurora provides care at sites in more than 90 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin.
