Aurora BayCare and Aurora Medical Center Receive Environmental Award for RecyclingFriday, July 31, 2009Green Bay, Wis. - Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay and Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers recently received the Environmental Award from Cintas Document Management for paper recycling. The award is given annually to select Cintas customers based on the volume of shredded paper recycled and its positive impact on the environment. "We are honored to earn this recognition from Cintas," said Karie King, manager of environmental services for Aurora BayCare Medical Center. "This award is another example of why Aurora BayCare is an environmental stewardship leader in health care." "Environmental stewardship, responsibly managing our resources and cost management all come together in this recycling initiative," said Cindy Jones, manager of environmental services at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers. "It's a winning proposition for us, our patients, the communities we serve and the environment." The estimated savings in consumable resources by recycling the approximately 69 tons of shredded documents at the two hospitals during 2008 were:
Aurora BayCare Medical Center is a 167-bed, full-service tertiary care hospital located at 2845 Greenbrier Road on Green Bay's east side.
