Aurora Internal Medicine Physician Earns Designation as Specialist in Blood Pressure ManagementFriday, July 31, 2009
Sturgeon Bay, Wis. - The American Society of Hypertension, Inc. (ASH) has designated Ashwani Bhatia, M.D., an internal medicine physician at Aurora Health Center in Sturgeon Bay, as a specialist in clinical hypertension.
Bhatia earned this honor after passing a certification exam and for his work in the prevention and management of his patients with hypertension, also known as high blood pressure.
Vicki Ruetten, director of care management for Aurora's North Region, commends Bhatia.
"It is very rare that a general internist receives this certification and very few of all providers have achieved this recognition in the U.S.," she explained. "We are very proud of Dr. Bhatia's accomplishment and are pleased to offer a specialist in hypertension to our patients."
Bhatia joins a select group of 1,300 specialists who have qualified for this recognition so far. The designation is valid for 10 years.
Bhatia received his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical School and completed an internal medicine residency at Texas Tech University Hospital. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
