Auroras Visiting Nurse Association in Northeastern WI in top 25 percent of home health agenciesTuesday, January 12, 2010
Green Bay, Wis. – The Aurora Visiting Nurse Association in Green Bay was recently included in the top 25 percent of home health agencies in the United States. This recognition was recently announced by OCS HomeCare and DecisionHealth, as their 2009 HomeCare Elite™.
"The HomeCare Elite has become the industry standard for identifying home health agencies that perform at the highest level," says Amanda Twiss, president and CEO of OCS HomeCare. "We congratulate the 2009 HomeCare Elite for their continued success and commitment to both high quality and strong financial performance."
Aurora Visiting Nurse Association Clinical Director Melanie Tiedt, R.N., said, “It was through the diligence of our caregivers that we have received this honor." The award is based on measures for quality of care, quality improvement and financial performance. Each agency's performance was compared against the performance of other organizations in their state and in the country.
Candy Hennessy, President of the Aurora Visiting Nurses Association said, "This is quite an accomplishment given the proposed legislative and regulatory changes that present ongoing challenges for the home health industry."
The 2009 HomeCare Elite is the only performance recognition of its kind in the home health industry. The 2009 HomeCare Elite is brought to the industry by OCS HomeCare, the leading provider of homecare information, and DecisionHealth, publisher of homecare’s most respected independent newsletter Home Health Line. The data used for this analysis was compiled from publicly available information. The entire list of the 2009 HomeCare Elite agencies can be viewed by visiting the OCS Web site at www.ocshomecare.com.
