Aurora psychiatrist in De Pere earns child and adolescent psychiatry certificationWednesday, January 13, 2010Green Bay, Wis. – Susan Maria Jacquez-Dean, M.D., of Aurora Health Center in De Pere became certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. She is now double Board certified, as she already holds a certification in Adult Psychiatry. Dr. Jacquez-Dean is now one of only 124 Board certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists in the entire state of Wisconsin. She treats children, adolescents and adults, and even entire families or combinations of family members. She completed three years of residency and two years of fellowship training in order to qualify to take the exam for board certification. The exam took place at a hospital in Baltimore, where she had to diagnose and develop treatment recommendations for a 14-year-old girl that she had only 30 minutes to meet with. "They were testing my ability to make an accurate assessment, handle emergencies and to relate and engage a teenage patient quickly. With a teenager that can be challenging," Jacquez-Dean said. Jacquez-Dean joined Aurora Health Care in 2007. She has a special interest in helping children and adolescents who are suffering from anxiety and depression. Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers services at sites in more than 90 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin. # # # Contact: Krissy Lillie |
