Aurora Lakeland Medical Center recognizes community leaders' service to hospital board

Elkhorn, Wis. — Aurora Lakeland Medical Center recently recognized two local businesspeople for their years of service to the Aurora Lakeland Medical Center Foundation Board.

Retiring board members Kim O’Keefe of China Motors Components in Delavan and James Gee, director of Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay, were recognized for serving three consecutive terms on the board. Both members served in various capacities including president of the board and other officer roles.

“We appreciate the time and commitment that Kim and Jim provided during their respective tenures,’’ said Michelle Weber, philanthropy officer, Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. “They played important roles in several philanthropy projects and activities. As a not-for-profit organization, we partner with community leaders to assist us in our mission of providing high quality, patient-focused care in the communities we serve.’’

The hospital’s foundation board is comprised of community volunteers and hospital staff. In addition to being public ambassadors for the hospital, the board meets regularly to review various philanthropy projects and funding needs.

Currently, the hospital is conducting its Building Healthier Communities Campaign, focusing on updating the obstetrics unit at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. The unit records over 800 births annually. Current members of the Aurora Lakeland Medical Center Foundation Board include Maureen Berkowitz, Scott Christian, LaVerne Duncan, Chuck Ebeling, Janis Hartley, Terri Jambor, Steve Jensen, Michael Krause, Debi Miller, Alice Morava, B.G. O'Reilly, Bob Rauland, Dave Scurek and Kathleen Skowlund.
