Aurora rehabilitation services in Manitowoc County expands

Wednesday, June 02, 2010

Manitowoc, Wis. – Patients who live in the southern part of Manitowoc County will have a new location option for physical and occupational therapy sessions. Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers is expanding rehabilitation services with a 5,000 square foot facility at 3821 Dewey Street in Manitowoc.

The new facility will be located near Aurora Manitowoc Clinic South, 4100 Dewey Street in Manitowoc.

“Aurora’s rehabilitation location in Manitowoc will offer a more convenient option for residents in the southern part of the county,” said Cathie Kocourek, Chief Administrative Officer of Aurora Medical Center-Manitowoc County. “Our patients will be able to choose the location that best fits into their busy lives.”

Aurora’s rehabilitation services will continue to be offered at Aurora Health Center in Two Rivers, 5300 Memorial Drive and at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers, 5000 Memorial Drive. Patients utilizing physical therapy and occupational therapy at those locations will have the option to see a therapist in Two Rivers or Manitowoc.

“We are growing out of our current location,” said Jeb Husmann, Aurora Health Care’s rehabilitation services manager. “Because of the demand for rehab services in the county, we’ve started adding more therapists to the team. When we take on more patients, we need more space for them.”

The rehabilitation services team added six new positions between the Two Rivers and Manitowoc locations due to the increasing need for rehabilitation services in the county.

Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of this month with completion in late fall.
