Friday, August 27, 2010

Grafton, Wis. — Aurora Health Care is pleased to announce the appointment of William Ebinger, MD, as the inaugural chief of staff for the new Aurora Medical Clinic in Grafton opening Nov. 1.

Dr. Ebinger, an Aurora Advanced Healthcare internal medicine physician, has been practicing medicine in the Grafton community since 1983 and will play a key role in the development of the medical staff at the new Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.

“Dr. Ebinger’s 27 years of medical practice in the Village of Grafton affords him great insight into the health care needs of this community and will be invaluable in his new role,” said Len Wilk, chief administrative officer, Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. “He embodies and embraces the philosophies of both Aurora Health Care and Aurora Advanced Healthcare with the most important being ‘patients first, always.’”

In his new role as president and chief of the medical staff, Dr. Ebinger will direct the new Aurora hospital’s credentialing and per review processes and oversee the medical staff executive committee. This committee helps ensure the hospital’s quality of care and serves as a liaison with the hospital’s community board and the medical staff.

Dr. Ebinger, board certified in internal medicine, earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Chicago. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Dr. Ebinger will continue to work closely with chief administrative officer Wilk and fellow physicians to develop the medical staff, policies and procedures for the new regional medical center.

Significant progress has been made in the construction of the new Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. In addition to construction of the facility, which is more than 80 percent complete, an important phase in the opening of a new medical center is the development of a medical staff and the medical staff policies and procedures.

Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers services at sites in more than 90 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
